The Holy Synod of St. Athanasius Congregation for Egyptian and Middle Eastern Christians Orthodox ( HSSAC) is a community of Christians comprising an autonomous reformed Orthodox Church.

The church holds itself to be fully Christian and fully Orthodox, maintaining the seven sacraments and apostolic succession.
HSSAC accepts the Nicene, Apostles and Athanasian creeds and Practices open communion for all Christians who acknowledge the real presence of Christ in Eucharist.
It has established spiritual, educational and social programs designed to feed those who are in need. Its dedication courage and love of service to Christ is through serving His people. His Grace, Archbishop Maximus I is the Presiding Hierarch of the HSSAC, who was consecrated by the Metropolitans of the Holy Synod of the American Diaspora.
Archbishop Maximus Hanna was born in October, 1949. Earned his Bachelor Degree of Theology in 1972. Earned his Doctorate of Divinity Degree D.D. from St. Elias School of Orthodox Theology in 2004. Consecrated Bishop in Apostolic Succession according to the Cannons of the Holy Orthodox churches for the Holy Synod for the American Diaspora of True Orthodox Christians in America in 2005. Elevated to the rank of Metropolitan Archbishop by the act of the Holy Synod in 2006.
His grace is the President and founder of The Good shepherd TV Ministry.
In the year 2008, Archbishop Maximus Hanna had fellowship with the worldwide Apostolic Churches in Brazil and the Holy Synod of St. Athanasius had been recognized as an ecclesiastical province and the founding member church of WCCAC. Read More..
